RIVMA is governed by volunteer leaders who are not compensated for their work.  These dedicated individuals put in countless hours over the course of their term to uphold the mission of the Association on behalf of its members and for the benefit of the profession.

While RIVMA is governed by officers and directors, they are supported by several committees, and when needed, task forces are organized, to help guide the Association with ongoing programs and projects.  The vast knowledge and experience these professionals bring to the RIVMA is invaluable.  Terms on the committees or task forces vary, but generally do not last more than two years.  Committee work is a wonderful way to become involved in the Association.  If you are interested in participating on one of our committees, please contact the RIVMA office at 401-751-0944.

RIVMA Committees

Education Committee:  Currently meets on an as-needed basis, many times by teleconference.  This committee is charged with helping to organize our Annual Scientific Seminar, including the speaking program, sponsorship opportunities, venues and other details of the two day event.

Public Relations Committee:  Members generally work independently to contribute to or edit publications originating from the RIVMA or to answer questions posed via email about animal medical conditions.

Scholarship Committee:  Reviews applications once annually for the RIVMA Scholarship.
